GDPR and Data Protection
Last updated: 7 November 2026
This page explains how Dealer Gate Ltd handles personal data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Our Privacy Policy has the full details of what we collect and why.
Who is responsible for your data
Who is responsible depends on how your data reached us:
- You use this website, or you are our customer. If you ask for a demo, contact us or hold a DealerGate account, we decide how that data is used, so we are the controller.
- You are a customer of a dealer that uses DealerGate. The dealer decides how your data is used, so the dealer is the controller. We are their processor, which means we handle that data to provide our service and on the dealer's instructions.
If you bought a car from a dealer or made an enquiry with one, please contact that dealer first about your data. If you contact us, we'll pass your request to them.
If you are a dealer
Each dealer's records are kept separate, and your staff only see what their login and role allow. We set out how we handle your customers' data in a data processing agreement. To ask for a copy, email support@dealergate.co.uk.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of your personal data
- have inaccurate data corrected
- ask us to delete your data
- ask us to limit how we use your data
- object to how we use your data
- ask for your data in a format you can move to another service
- withdraw your consent, where we rely on it
Some of these rights depend on the circumstances. To use any of them, email support@dealergate.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.
